It is only March, but many parents are already thinking about summer activities. Studio B has plenty of workshops and classes to keep your kids busy. The summer schedule was just announced. Exact times and dates for registration will be posted on the website very soon, but this is what you have to look forward to:
Ready to be a Star: Beginning acting workshop for kids. This will have two sessions–one for ages 4-7 and one for ages 8-12. This class is perfect for kids that want to learn to act, but have never had a chance to get experience. Perfect for those wanting to audition for summer shows, too! It will cover learning a script, basic stage movement and technique, voice projection, how to audition and much more! These are held at the end of May from 3:30-5:30 and each session ends in a short performance. No audition required, $150
Tom Sawyer: A children’s workshop production, appropriate for ages 8-13 with a mini workshop available for kids ages 4-7. Kids will rehearse the script and music for two weeks and then it ends in six performances. Audition required.
Emperor’s New Clothes: A children’s workshop production, same as above. This show will rehearse in July and will end with six performances.
Set Building & Tech Workshop: Studio B has had many request for a set building and tech workshop, so here it is! Two sessions, one for Tom Sawyer and one will run during Emperor’s New Clothes. Kids will actually plan and build the sets for these two shows and learn how to run the lights and sounds. $225
Robin Hackett’s American Idol Vocal Workshop: Six weeks of intensive vocal work with recording artist Robin Hackett and Lainey Bernstein. Workshop includes two private vocal lessons each week and intense work on singing. Must have previous vocal instruction. One of our most popular classes. $600
Teen Musical Theater: Teens ages 11 and up will work on their very own show and prepare for a performance.
Teen Improv: MySpace, YourSpace: Fun improv workshop for ages 12+. Focuses on improv techniques and ends in a show.
